1. About the Service

ShoppingPartnerLab provides:

• AI-Readiness Scanner: automated assessment of publicly accessible e-commerce websites across 10 categories and 120+ signals
• Trust Registry: a public, machine-readable database of AI-readiness scores for European webshops
• CSS Partner Comparison: independent comparison of 130+ Comparison Shopping Service partners across 29 European countries
• Commerce Passport: a verifiable credential for webshops that meet our AI-readiness standards

2. How we scan websites

Our scanner analyzes publicly accessible web pages using automated tools. We scan:

• Homepage and a sample of product pages
• Publicly available structured data (JSON-LD, meta tags, HTTP headers)
• robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, and other standard web files
• Publicly visible business information

We do NOT access:

• Login-protected pages or admin panels
• Customer databases or transaction systems
• Content blocked by robots.txt
• Internal APIs or non-public endpoints

Our scanning is analogous to how search engines (Google, Bing) crawl the web. We only access information that is intentionally published on the open internet.

3. robots.txt compliance

We respect robots.txt directives. Website operators who wish to exclude their site from our scanner can add the following to their robots.txt:

User-agent: ShoppingPartnerLabBot
Disallow: /

We check robots.txt before every scan and comply with all directives.

4. Published data and licensing

What we publish:

• AI-readiness scores (overall and per category, 0-100)
• Trust level classification
• Technical signals (schema presence, JS shell detection, platform)
• AI model assessment summaries
• Aggregated statistics per country and sector

What we do NOT publish:

• Product pricing, inventory, or catalog data
• Customer or visitor information
• Revenue, traffic, or financial data
• Raw HTML source code

License: Our public datasets are published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). You may cite our data with attribution. Commercial redistribution requires written permission.

5. Accuracy and disclaimer

AI-readiness scores are generated through automated scanning and AI model assessments. While we strive for accuracy:

• Scores reflect a point-in-time assessment and may not reflect recent changes
• AI model assessments are automated and may contain errors
• Scores are informational and should not be the sole basis for business decisions
• We do not guarantee that a high score will result in AI agent recommendations

ShoppingPartnerLab is not a certification body, auditor, or regulatory authority. Our assessments are independent evaluations based on publicly available data.

6. Correction and removal

Website operators may request:

• Score correction: if you believe your score is inaccurate due to a scanning error, contact info@shoppingpartnerlab.com with details. We will investigate and rescan if appropriate.
• Removal: if you wish to be removed from our registry, contact info@shoppingpartnerlab.com. We will remove your data within 30 days.

7. Trust Badge and Commerce Passport

• Trust Badges are available to website operators with a score of 55 or higher
• Commerce Passports are issued to websites with a score of 80 or higher
• Both are subject to periodic rescanning. If a score drops below the threshold, the badge or passport may be revoked
• Badge and passport status may change without notice based on scan results

8. Limitation of liability

ShoppingPartnerLab provides its services "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Business decisions made based on our scores
• Temporary unavailability of our services
• Inaccuracies in automated assessments
• Third-party actions based on published scores

Our total liability is limited to the fees paid by the user in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes shall be resolved by the competent court in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
